This is a full day workshop with a stack of take-home ideas and resources.

The financial statements have always been a tricky part of the course - not only for students to grasp, but more significantly, for teachers to understand and teach. 

 

The financial statements form the foundation of understanding business activity. 

 

The proposed new syllabus has them front and centre. As business teachers, we need to know how these statements work, what they tell us, and how businesses use them to make decisions.

2: Explanation of the 3 financial statements and how they have been assessed in HSC Exam

​

3: Common misunderstandings and the limitations of financial statements

​

4: How to teach the ratios - including resources and strategies

​

5: How to teach through the statements - programming strategies

​

6: Gamifying the Financial Statements - including a free game of Retail Boss

 

This course is for new and experienced Business Studies teachers looking to improve their teaching of the financial statements.
